Dirty, blues-inspired rock n roll is the order of the day. Sounding like a swamp monster that's studied Rolling Stones riffs all its life, Cuts Across The Land is a promising debut.

For a band with a cult following in their hometown of London, their success seems assured in the UK. Hype aside, this album does stand up.

The female vocals recall Patti Smith, the mood on the record is consistent and earthy and the songs are as well written as their press release.
