No apples please!

Document Actions
by Margaret Irwin, St Ives
October 2005

I read with interest the article by Martin Slattery (Made in Eastwood) about Granny Smith, but when quoting the Bible, get it right!

There is nowhere in the Bible that says Adam and Eve ate an apple.

"You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, but you must not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for when you eat of it, you will surely die" (Genesis chapter 2, verse 16–17).

Again, in Chapter 3, verse 6, "when the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it." No apples!
